On behalf of the Latvian Society of Cardiology, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the XXIII Nordic-Baltic Congress of Cardiology to be held in Riga, Latvia, 16 – 18 June 2011.

There is a long tradition of Nordic Congresses of Cardiology, and the year 2011 will be the second time when eight Nordic and Baltic Societies of Cardiology organise the Nordic-Baltic Congress of Cardiology (NBCC) together.

Held every other year, the congress has rotated between the Nordic countries and now – also between the Baltic States. NBCC 2011 will be held in Latvia and will gather leading cardiologists not only from the Nordic-Baltic region, but also international thought leaders from other European countries, the United States, Russia and Japan. This will give us the opportunity to bring together state-of-art scientific research in the field of cardiovascular medicine and will become a strong forum for exchanging ideas and seeking solutions for the future.

This year is special for participants of the Nordic-Baltic Congress of Cardiology. You are welcome to participate in two more conferences the day before the NBCC 2011 - Meeting of Interventional Cardiology "Baltic Summer 2011" and "Nordic-Baltic Electrophysiology Club Meeting 2011" to be held on 15 June in Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital in Riga.
